A compilation of photographs taken in 55 Scottish malt whisky distilleries over a five year period recording old equipment and obsolete practices in a way which is frequently picturesque.
The pictures are accompanied by stories collected from elderly retired distillery men recalling their lives in the 1950's and 1960's before multinational ownership was commonplace, and when a struggle between managers, workforce and excise was the norm.
The book has a dictionary of whisky terms and also one for the Doric language from Grampian in which many of the interviews are conducted.
the book can be viewed and purchased on its own website
where audio clips from the interviews can be enjoyed.
